Day 2
Throughout this journey my wish is to introduce you to a series of practices that you can go on and weave into your daily life to nourish, cleanse and inspire you. These practices have helped me to come home to myself and ground, I have practiced them for many years and I create my life around them, they nourish and cleanse my field, my body, my mind, my subtle bodies, the spaces I live in so that I can feel myself, let go of extra emotional baggage and move with ease feeling supported and centered.
Clear and cleanse your space
Having a clean space where to live is essential for accessing an inner place of quiet and emotional hygene with ourselves and with our loved ones.
Before proceeding with some practices of energetic clearing I ask you to clean your home and do it intentionally, as a practice. As you clean do so with the intention of listening to the space, its stories and energies, you may do so with your body.
When mopping the floor perhaps add some essential oils, flower essences or aura soma. And when all is clean and spacious follow the below step for an energetic clearing.
Smudge the house with any herbal smudge stick you have with closed windows, when you have finished smudging and the house is charged with smoke open all the windows and doors and do the following visualization in each room:
Visualise a lilac (light purple) fire in the middle of the room, as the fire gets bigger see it burn all the stagnation and negative energy of the space, then sweeping your arms around visualise it moving through the furniture and into the corners of the room and with a fast swoop send the accumulated energy out the window and into the soil, to be alchemised by nature. Repeat this visualization for each room.
When you have done the whole home stand in its center and set an intention for the space, mine is normally for the home to become a safe container for love to bloom, for welcoming friends, for creativity, warmth and nourishment. If I do his in my working space I ask for the place to be a space filled with inspiration, abundance, creativity and flow. Keeping it simple, always.
This process is best done first thing in the morning at dawn. I highly recommend doing it as a morning meditation practice.
As a token of your work, buy or pick a wild flower and put it in a vase with water. Enjoy the flowers presence in its simplicity and notice the stillness surrounding you.
Cleanse the body
Now that your home is clean both physically and energetically we can move on to the human vessel. Of course this whole week is in itself a cleanse, but today we focus on cleansing the physical and subtle realms in home and body very practically.
The below practice can be done as a full body bath or as a footbath if you don’t have access to a tub.
You will need:
Epsom salts or sea salt or himalayan salts ( my teacher says that Epsom salts draw negativity out of the body, I have found this to be true and accompanied by the heat of the water which softens the tissues it is a really beautiful ritual of purification)
baking soda (optional)
Optional:
Any crystals, herbs and essential oils, whatever nourishes your senses and experience.
Fill your tub and add the salts and baking soda, for a full tub I add at least two cups of salt and half of baking soda.
Add candles, essences and perhaps also some burning incense and soak your body or feet for at least 20 minutes listening to the below sound bath. Let everything go into the warm womb like hug of the water. Allow yourself to be deeply touched by this element. Water puts us in a natural state of flow and receptivity enjoy them, soak them in. Ideally this practice will be done right before bed so that you can fully relax after and be carried into the dream world. If any poignant dreams should arise during the night you can write them in your journal as a reflective moment during breakfast tomorrow.
This ritual can also be done in a living body of water like a lake, river or the sea.
BONUS ~
Cleansing the auric field
when feeling depleted (for example after a plane trip) or when you have cold or flu sympthoms.
Prepare a bowl with coarse sea salt or himalayan pink salt and place it under your bed where you sleep overnight, I normally put it under my chest if I have a cold, head if headache, etc. Remove it and throw the salt away in the morning. The salt absorbes negative energy from your auric field. You can repeat the procedure a few nights in a row or as much as needed. Always replace the salt in the morning and don’t leave it lying around.
